Launched on Indiegogo crowdfunding in Aug 2022, to raise €13k from 145 supporters who ordered 132 devices, HOLOFIL-cardboard is Amsterdam based startup's patent pending holographic simulation display device which projects your mobile phone based 3D media content inside the device. It has a special highly tuned optics with special glass, lighting, and the casing design to create a highly specialized optical setting, to creates mesmerizing simulated holographic 3d visual illusions for entertainment, education, gaming, and training. It falls in the area of Augmented Reality displays. It works with your smart phone as the main display and processing unit. We already sell bigger sized business displays for a few years with corporate clients and this is our latest patent pending consumer product offering after a strong demand from consumers.

A core focus is on 3D gaming and 3D model visualizations. We have recreated many classic arcade games like Snake, Tetris, Packman, Ping pong for both iOS and Android that you can install on your smart phone to start playing with HOLOFIL. Install these games on your mobile, connect mobile with our gamepad controller using Bluetooth, place mobile in the top section of the device and start playing. In the same manner, play 3D animations in mp4 video format in a media player on mobile, and the device projects the animations as a hologram illusion.

HOLOFIL-cardboard allows incredible visual engagement and takes mobile engagement to the next level. If you are a 3D artist you can create content for it yourself or use our 3D content creation apps to create simple 3D animations to use with it or play with our 3D casual games. A big attraction is mixed reality where you can combine physical objects with virtual content to create great experiences. The fishes / butterflies in the pictures are animations while the leaves are real. Put similarly any physical objects by opening the device and playing any 3d animation to create great visual experiences. Use it for marketing on your social media channels your small products.

The device weighs 400 grams only, comes with a micro-USB rechargeable game controller and backlight, comes in a compact letterbox size packaging that you have to assemble with DIY easy instructions. The casing is made of supreme quality black cardboard material and the glass is a special optics glass. You can place any mobile (iOS / Android) up to 171 cm in height. A big focus is also to give a boost to 3D design thinking for kids and our website has a lot of material and demos further. Aim is to introduce kids to Free Internet based 3D design softwares like Autodesk TinkerCAD (search) which allows free 3D model creation and export, and use these 3D models in HOLOFIL to visualize to get motivated to learn 3D. Learn more advanced free softwares further like Blender to learn 3D design and animations and visualize them in HOLOFIL further. Learn simple game programming in game engine softwares like Unity and create simple fun games for HOLOFIL to get introduced to the world of 3D and to trigger their interest in more complex 3D design and programming aspects later.

The device needs to be assembled (like IKEA) from DIY components and once bought can not be returned if it is not in its original packaging, so ensure before ordering.
